14-12-2024 Chomatero-Klisoura-Mistraki
Chomatero church
We start at the church in Chomatero and walk to the Monastery Grivitsanis. This monastery was renovated and so we try to get the key to look inside. Then we walk back a bit and walk along the old water mills to Klisoura, where we will have a break at the church. After the break we walk downhill, cross a small river and walk uphill to Mistraki, where we have another short break. Walking downhill from Mistraki we have to be careful because of the rolling stones. Back to Chomatero we can have a drink at the cafeneion "To Steki Tis Eleni".
The chronicle of today
On this beautiful, sunny December day, we gathered 12 Freewalkers in Chomateró.
It was a nice but not too challenging walk on unpaved roads in contact with nature and a visit to the recently restored Grivitsanis monastery.
Unfortunately, the friendly and welcoming local Kafenion was closed today because the owner has been busy with the olive harvest.
We therefore decided to meet in Charakopio at the Agorá Kafenion to have, as usual, a drink together.
See you next Saturday 21th of December in Finikounda for the Christmas walk and dinner.
