Dear Freewalkers,
after the hot summer break, as promised, here we are again in September with our weekly appointments to get together and walk together.
During this month, our walks will always be fairly short due to the heat and to get back in shape.
From October we will alternate between a week with a short walk (7-8 km) and a slightly longer one (10-15 km).
Our first walk will take us to Stenosiá Waterfalls.
We have recently checked the route and the bridges for the watercourse crossings do not present any problems.
Unfortunately, the first waterfall (Kalamaris waterfall) is currently devoid of water.
The second one, on the other hand, has enough water flowing down, which we find flowing into the creeks we pass on the walk.
It is a relatively short walk but the trail in its second part is quite wild and challenging.
Some passages with boulders, others quite steep or paths through reeds.
The last 200 metres of steep ascent of the waterfall also require caution so as not to slip.
This is a very scenic hike that is almost always shady and that freewalkers have done several times without ever having found any problems.
The important thing is to be equipped with good shoes. So please no sandals or flip-flops.
We will then meet at 9.a.m. at the start of the walk at the meeting point indicated on the map below.
