02-05-2026-Walk in the hills around Methoni

This time a longer and quite challenging hike.
Please bear in mind that this walk therefore requires good fysical fitness due to the distance ànd a few significant elevation changes.

The walk starts at the parkinglot in Methoni.
We walk along the western coast of Methoni and cross the main road at the sports field to enter the countryside. We walk past the ruins of the monastery church of Ag. Leon, continuing uphill to the Konstandinos & Eleni chapel. Here we take our first break.
We continue downhill, but not for long! 
A longer, sustained climb follows.
Our next destination is the chapel of Ag. Georgios, our second break. Once more, we will climb steeply up to Tapia until we can descend gently back to sea level, back to Methoni where we can have a drink in one of the café's on the square.
